    is there any way of testing the power supply without a working tube?

    I had a problem with my laser tube where the end of the water supply ring covering the tube lens broke away.
    he laser is no longer firing and I am going to replace the tube. I would like to test the power supply as well to see if there is a problem but am not sure how to test it.

    The machine ammeter no longer registers, is this just because the tube isnt intact or should the ammeter still register a current even without a tube?

    The ammeter will not show any current if the tube is missing or destroyed.

    Take care with the PSU, the high voltage could cause fatality also the high voltage may be present on the HT wire for some time after the PSU has been switched off.
