    chip blaster AND/OR thru spindle air?

    can anyone tell me if it is possible to run both a chip blaster coolant system and still have the option of thru spindle air. the machine is a Okuma millac 852. i'm thinking that it is possible as the machine automatically blasts air on tool changes as well as when you turn off the chip blaster pump. but none of the M codes listed in the manual do anything? please help?

    (forgot to mention that i am running it with a Fanuc 31i controller)

    Under The Tire= can answer this better than me, but yes I believe you can, we ran an NZ (Mori, sorry guys) with both "air" and "chip blaster", you may have to create a user defined M-code for it though. But I have done it on a Fanuc control.

    Post here and get a better answer;

    I've seen it done too on both lathes and M/C's. requires appropriate check valves and M-codes. Translation=special option.

    Be prepared to "fog" the inside of your machine when you switch from coolant to air from all the residual coolant.
