I'm in the same boat. Any help? I ran the program in front of the part and it was working fine. I moved my offset in to cut the part and after the first pass, the spindle stopped. I reset the program and alarm 2028 is what it says.
I can put it in C axis mode and it the C axis works as it should.
Just no M3.
Here's troubleshooting information for alarm 2028 on a Puma 240. Possibly the same for a Lynx 220.
I appreciate you getting back to us. However, I printed out those sheets and don't know what I'm looking at. I checked the tool arm, when it is down it says "setting" on the screen and goes off when I move it up so it must know when that it is up. As for the chuck clamp, I don't see any prox switches. I see a place on the tail end of the spindle where it looks like they go but nothing there. There are rubber plugs in that place. Door interlocks are in, don't know if it knows they are in. I'll keep messing around.

Is there an M35 and an M05 at the end of your program? Sounds like maybe it's still in C-axis mode?
That is what I was thinking too; what code did it read that needs to be canceled? Here is the program that was running. Pretty basic but you never know. Like I said earlier, I ran it in front of the part it was fine.
Then moved the offset to the part. It got to the end of the first pass and the spindle stopped. No alarm. I think it was in single block and stopped then, not during the cut. I had since pressed reset and jogged it away and here we are. The machine has been powered off and on while waiting and trying some of your previous solutions.
There is no M5 or M35 at the end but when suggested earlier, I executed them in mdi then re-tried it. What are the other cancel codes? I'm not being lazy, I have had the manuals on order for a few weeks. Our originals were apparently "misplaced".

Apparently you don't have a C-axis, and Hermle UWF851 does. So your problem isn't with the spindle being in C-axis mode when you try to start it.
Both of you:
Check the diagnostics listed under "Main Spindle Initial condition" (bottom of P135 in the .pdf file posted earlier) to see what switch isn't being made.
To display the diagnostics:
Press SYSTEM key
Press [PMC] soft key
Press [PMC/DGN] soft key
To check the diagnostic for Q-Setter arm down (X4.6), type in X4.6 then press the [SEARCH] soft key. Compare the status of that bit with the "Main Spindle Initial condition" chart.
Repeat for the other signals listed in the chart.
I powered it up today to try your suggestions and it ran fine. It has been powered up and down yesterday with out it working. So I'm not sure if it will be hit or miss. I asked if anyone messed with it (already knowing no one will do anything without being asked twice). To my surprise, someone took initiative and topped off the hydraulic fluid this morning with the rest of the machines. It may be possible the low level was the issue? I would think it would have to be pretty low. Plus be right on the edge where it ran the program once and two seconds later stop. It could happen.

Could be a door interlock fault or a tool clamp signal logic error.
Dont forget, there may be a tool unclamp, clamp no tool or tool clamp issue, so you need to check the whole logic is correct to get the "fin" signal. (make a truth table of the inputs in each state)
But, if you can read the ladder diagram you will find the 2028 error output in the PMC might be D528 in the ladder for example, but if you cant try to find someone who can.

We had the same 2028 alarm on our Daewoo PUMA 200B w/ Fanuc 18T control. I found that the PRESETTER DOWN confirmation prox. was stuck ON causing the SPINDLE START interlock.
Our problem was random and intermittent so it was hard to track down. Finally, when the alarm occurred, I noticed that "OFST" was flashing on the offset screen which is what happens when the presetter is DOWN. (Our presetter was UP, but the DOWN signal was ON. )
Complicating the diagnosis was the fact that our manual showed a hydraulic presetter while ours was electric.
Since we don't use the presetter I simply disconnected the DOWN prox. signal wire from the terminal strip.

Just to add to this....I was at my friends shop today trying to figure out why he was getting the 2028 alarm. His RPM on one tool was 125 rpm. He used the spindle override to reduce speed on a previous tool so when the program progressed to the 125rpm it gave the 2028 alarm. The machine didn't want to run that slow.
A 2083 alarm on one machine, may not necessarily be the same as a 2083 on a different machine.
Lower numbered alarms have a commonality, as every machine has hydraulics and E-stop alarms, but in the upper levels (remember that some early machines only had a possibility of 100 alarms) some upper numbers had to be "re-allotted to apply to different tasks.

having the same issue on a Lynx 220lm.
Qset arm down prox switch was fully stuck on. after disconnecting in several combinations the prox switch wires on the IO slot #1, I had no success, what I did do was switch the prox wires around and put a washer to fool the sensor into thinking the arm was up. this worked for a month, and now im finding that the Qset down switch is intermittently functioning causing the spindle alarm. I have a new switch on order, hopefully this solves the issue and I can get back to production along with being able to utilize my Qsetter
Hate to drag up an old thread. But is there a list of 2xxx alarm codes somewhere? I am getting a 2061 Alarm and I can't find what it might be for.
In the back of either the operation manual, or the instruction manual, there is a list of alarm codes
Different machines have different alarms associated with the numbers (2061 on one machine is not the same as 2061 on another machine)
Example:
2061 on a DBC130 is a T-Code Over Command Error
2061 on a Puma240 is a Safety Locking Switch
Each are handle differently
