Couple little problems, need to switch metric to inch, tried parameter P16 doesn't work, also can't change OP1 parameter and my chucks won't open or close, not even when I switch for int. to ext. can't even here a click.

have you tried G20 / G21 ?

but, remember dont run a metric program in inch mode, you could crash the machine, an inch is 25.4mm and will move an axis a huge amount in metric.

This Mazak has only Mazatrol programming, no MDI or EIA, it won't let you even type in G20, everything I have read says to change P16, but that doesn't seem to work.

you may well be correct, but the Mazatrol control is only some fancy software sitting on top of a standard Mitsubishi control.

there could be an option parameter or system parameter locked down by Mazak and they might want to bill you hundreds of dollars to give you the option.

There are a number of passwords to access these areas.

Maybe someone out there can help you, I used to have these but not for some time, sorry.

I'll keep plugging along till I get them, I keep trying different things when I get a chance, I have 2 other Mazaks but 1 is a QT8 T2 and the other is a QT8 T32 control. I pulled the parameters off of the T2 to get the QT 10 T1 control up and running, after it lost all of it's parameters, got most of it up and running.
