    Handed Parts Left/Right

    Hello All,

I have changed jobs and now I am working with UG NX 7.5 from Mastercam
X4...I have not had too many problems..but there is a learning curve..

My question is I machine many handed parts is there an easy way to program the opposite hand once you have one done..

in a nutshell I have been saving my file as the opposite part# mirroring the part. Hiding the original then referencing the original paths to the new part....still having to pick geometry for the new part...there has to be an easier way....

With Mastercam I was able to mirror the toolpaths and run them the opposite direction....

    Thanks In Advance

You can mirror and reverse tool paths in NX also. Select the operation, object, transform to get to the mirror options. Use tool path, Edit to reverse the path.

If you are using master model, you might look at mirrored components. There may be ways to avoid reselecting the geometry.

There are many ways to do this :*)

If you want to learn NX CAM, there are many many sources of information already available to you - the CAM Express tutorials, the extensive help documentation, and the customer forums hosted by Siemens PLM. There is also training available from SPLM and third parties.
