    Vexta PH series 8 wire configuration

    Hello to all;

    I have been testing again. I hope this info will help someone in the future trying to figure out the series / parallel wiring on the Vexta PH series 8 wire stepper. I think the doc is self explained, if you require help, or have any corrections, please tell me.

    The following is also attached as a file for your downloading pleasure.

    General disclaimer; I tested these wire configurations using a ZETA4 drive (compumotor). All configurations listed were succesfull for a short run time. I would confirm by testing for many hours to confirm operation and overheating/ amp draw concerns. Please use at your own risk, I do not want to hear about burned up steppers or drives, it is YOUR choice to use this guide.

    These are 8 wire steppers with the following wire colors:

    Phase A:
    Black ----
    ]coil
    Black/White ----

    Orange/White ----
    ]coil
    Orange ----

    Phase B:
    Red ----
    ]coil
    Red/White ----

    Yellow/White ----
    ]coil
    Yellow ----

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Series configuration:

    A+ = Black
    A- = Orange
    A Center tap = Blk/Wht + Org/Wht

    B+ = Red
    B- = Yellow
    B Center tap = Red/Wht + Yel/Wht

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Parallel configuration:

    A+ = Black + Org/Wht
    A- = Blk/Wht + Orange

    B+ = Red = Yel/Wht
    B- = Red/Wht + Yellow

    All info contained herein was taken from the ZETA4 manual and a VEXTA diagram I scrounged from the web. Please copy and pass this info freely to help others along the CNC path.
