    Problem Saving Programs to VF2

I am able to send programs to the Mill via the RS232 by using a buffered input and run the programs but every time I try to save the file to the controller I get an alarm. The controler has 95% availible memory

Here is how the program starts:

    BEGIN PREDATOR NC HEADER)
    (MACH_FILE=HAAS - 3XVMILL.MCH)
    (MTOOL T6 S1 D.123 H5. A0. C0. DIAM_OFFSET 6 = .0615)
    (MTOOL T5 S1 D.091 H5. A0. C0. DIAM_OFFSET 5 = .0455)
    (SBOX X-1.3616 Y-.2324 Z-1. L1.4241 W.4648 H1.)
    (END PREDATOR NC HEADER)

    %
    O100 (PROGRAM NUMBER)
(PROGRAM NAME - NEW TIP 3H3000-069P012_032006.TXT)
    (POST - HAAS VF)
    (DATE - MON. 12/27/2010)
    (TIME - 04:56PM)

    G00 G17 G20 G40 G49 G80 G90

    G91 G28 Z0.
    G91 G28 X0. Y0.

    (FIRST CUT - FIRST TOOL)
    (JOB 1 POCKET)
    (FEATURE POCKET)

    T06 M06
    G90 G54 X-.8852 Y-.0183 S9168 M03
    G43 H06 Z.1 M08

I dont think its a format issue. I think I am trying to save the program using the wrong proceedure. How should I be saving a program to the controler via the RS232.

    1. You're missing a ( on the first block.
    2. What alarm are you getting?
    3. Here's the procedure (from the Haas Mill Operator's Manual):

The % sign in the middle of the program doesn't look right unless you are stripping out all the comments when you send the program. One % sign as the initial character and one at the very end of the transmission is required.
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

I missed copying the first ( sign. I get a format error and one other I cann't remember off the top of my head. I will try changing the % to the front of the file since I dont delete comments. Its just strange that I can send this file in as a buffered program but cannot save it

Thats the same proceedure I was using. I will report back the actual alarms when I get in

I believe you can look in the Alarm history to see what the alarm was.

So the program does load and can run to completion but I recieve the errors after the program has loaded.

I also get the same errors when I try to select a program in the list. I move the cursor over the program and push select program twice. It selects the program but the alarm goes off I get the same 251 and 212 errors

212 PROG INTEGRITY ERROR - Possible corrupted program. Save all programs to disk, delete all, then reload. Check for a low battery and low battery alarm.

251 PROG DATA STRUCT ERROR - Possible corrupt program. Save all programs to disk, delete all, and then reload. If the error persists, programs may have to be searched for error on PC, corrected then reloaded. Back up all programs on USB or other device, delete all, and reload. Problem may return when programs are reloaded. Programs should be reloaded one at a time to isolate the corrupted program. If any programs cannot be deleted, please contact your dealer.

I downloaded all the programs and tried to delete them one by one. The controler would not let me do this giving me the same alarms. I was able to delete all the programs by selecting all. After I did that I reloaded 1 program and it now works perfect with no alarms. It appears there was a corrupt program that was setting off the alarm.

    Thanks for your help

    Dan
