How do I cut Kevlar Sheets, successfully?

Hello, I have a 48 x 96" sheet of 1/2" thick Kevlar that I need to cut. My tooling guy told me to cut it like wood! LOL! Well, after 12" or so the 3/8 Carbide compression bit melted. SO much for that.
Wood I can cut, but this is something new and I'll only need to do it once every three years or so. (I'm making a plate to go in a gang rip saw that has a great life span...)
We had the Kevlar cut a few years ago by the previous owner of our CNC machine. I have his machine and all his tooling, but can't cut the Kevlar. Any help would be great!
I need to know what type of bit I need, rpm, and feed rates, with depth of cut.

    Thanks in advance guys!

I assume you mean a kevlar epoxy composite sheet? A diamond saw is probably what you need. It also works well for carbon fiber.

For just the raw kevlar fabric, the special Robuso Proton Kevlar Scissors sold by Atlantic Thread and Supply are wonderful.

You need a shear action, like a very sharp tool taking a deep cut so the edge of the tool shears the fibres.

I would try a HSS tool bit, and something meant for lower RPM and deeper DOC like maybe a single flute HSS bit made for low melt plastics.
