X2 Z axis home switch mounting.

I am installing limit switches on my Hossmachine X2, and am looking for a good way to set up the Z switch. I'd like to see pictures of other installs so I can get ideas.

If you've got a good setup for this, would you please post a picture in this thread?

    Cheers,
    Fred

It's funny you mention this now.. I was just about to start a thread asking pretty much the same question.. Except i need pics/help on all 3 axis.. I ordered mine Friday and plan on machining the enclosures for them here soon'' I've searched the net high & low looking for pics as well..

So far I've only ran across one that may be of help.. The red limits are the ones i ordered..

Perhaps someone here can help us both

    Thanks

Help us three! I ordered the same limit switches you have from Hubbard CNC.

Gotta love a Mom and Pop business.

I was about to start searching the forum for posts, if I find any good ones I'll post them here,

    Steph

They're Honeywell Micro Switches. I'm not certain, but I'm hoping they're oil and waterproof. I can't see how they could be, because that type normally sell for 10 times the amount Hubbard CNC are charging. Either way, they're a quality product, and they have mechanical connections, rather than the spade type used in auto electrical applications.

I don't consider this thread hijacked. It probably should have been titled "The Limit Switch Thread".

Here's a couple of options for mounting X and Y microswitches. I used this method.

    Y axis by bilinghm:

And Degreaser came up with an improvement to that Y limit switch setup.

I'm still looking for ideas for a Z axis mount.

Thanks for the links... I've seen them too... I really like there setups but I'm going to mount mine on the outside of each axis... Primarily due to easy axis to them... I would imagine them ones mounted inside the table may be a bit hard to align.. not to mention changing them if needed... I would rather just pull a few screws rather than remove a complete axis

Steoh.. I highly doubt there waterproof.. I'm going to machine aluminum covers to mount mine in so that will solve that issue... They really are a nice little micro switch... I accidentally set my old 90 lb cross slide table on one last night and it didn't do squat to it... There super strong!!

I'll keep looking for setups guys!

Well Fred here is my design... Nothing fancy here my friend... As long as they work and don't retain moisture/chips I'll be a happy camper...

For anyone who needs the info, here's a very simple way to mount a Z home switch.

Adjustment can be made by bending the screw slightly and then rotating it into the needed position. I got lucky and it was perfect as it was.

And here's a NOT so simple way to mount a Z-Axis home switch.. Sorry guys. I must admit i did tend to go a tad overboard as usual on my home switch mounts.. My z axis is done other than wiring it up... I'm in the process of installing the X-Y switches now, I'll wire them all once i get them all installed... They should hold up quite well... There extremely sturdy!!

There are a few videos on them on my site/YouTube
