I'm struggling through the same -siemens website has tons of manuals and if you keep studying them long enough you'll figure out some of it but it's a steep curve - The biggest problem is that it uses ISO G code and if you a cam program it must post in that format. I've worked through the tool setup, conversion to imperial, and some other issues. I just bought a conversation turning program that will post in ISO. I don't log on real frequently but I'm happy to help.
hi,
802D is working by G codes . only in cycles is somewhat conversational(cycle support).
It's programming documentations are accessible in internet under the phrase "DOCONWEB".

thanks for the site - the documentation is exactly what i was missing!
I can help with any questions on 802D. We retrofit machines with this control.
Hi,
Looking to write a post processor that we could install into Catia. Can anyone advise how we can do this whole process please.
Cheers for now,
There is no software that simulates the 802D screens exactly.
However there is software that you can buy that simulates 840D screens. This is called HMI Advanced for PG/PC.
You can also buy a package called Sinutrain that consists of a software plus control panel. This package is for training purposes.
Catia should already have a standard post for the 840D control.
thanks for the replies.
I have another question
I am trying to get familliar with the g- code side on programing this machine it is a lathe .
can any one post a g-code program so I can see how you would go about programing in the siemens control , if you can use the g41 and g42, would be helpfull
thanks.
If you look in the manuals online it lists the gcode style synthax that the 802 series uses.
