    G0704 - CoB's Build

This is the story of my G0704. So I have been waiting for several months now, and just when I thought it was going to come, nope. “We have experienced a delay in receiving the machines at our warehouse. We currently expect to receive it on approximately February 25, 2011” So I come home and start playing with my new GMT vise that showed up to day, and I come to check my email, and wow A email l from grizzly saying it shipped! And I tracked my mill on SIAI’s web site and it is coming in like10 hours……OMG what am I Going to do!!
    So begins my tail.

    Congrats!
They do like their surprise shipments.
I thought I mine was postponed giving me more time to prep then bam, just like you.
The crate isn't that big, I slid it off my tailgate, down the steps and in the front door.

Dear Hoss, I am not the kind of person to be a “fan” of rock or movie stars. But let me say it is a honor to have you be the first response in my thread. I really like what you contribute to the cnczone, and your website, that I linked it on mine. Between you and Bob Warfeild, I think I have enough projects to last for many many years. Thanks again!

They do under promise on a regular basis. Make sure you push the motor hard after break in to see if it last. We are all hoping it does so we can put the motor issue behind this fine machine. Keep us updated.

    Siai sucks.....

    :drowning:
Siai 2nd day no show with my mill. on Friday they just did not show up. Today’s appointment was at 10am to 2 I think… no show. I called at 6, the customer service rep said it was going to be delivered between 7 and 8. At 621 it was back at the dock. I called and they said the truck was not able to make it cause of bad weather…..so what about Friday I said? No answer. I have just not had good luck with these people. And I drove from 830 am to 5pm to day. The roads were in more than ok condition. I don’t want to say anything bad about siai, but they would not be my first choice.

So my mill has bin with in 4 miles of my house now for the past 4 days…..it is like a mean joke, lol. Time will tell.

So why couldn't you just drive to the dock and pick it up? I just ordered the same mill last Friday. They sent me an email Saturday saying they expect a shipment around Feb. 25th. Hopefully it will not be that long.

I agree. When they tell you they will be somewhere at a certain time then they should be there.

Mine arrived yesterday morning. It's safely in the garage, but I haven't even cracked the crate yet.

Yeah I can't believe it. You all just got your mills. I ordered one last Friday but was told don't expect it until at least the end of Feb. It's hard to believe that they don't have at least one more in stock, HAHA. I have a feeling that Grizzly just waits until they get a few orders for something and then they place an order. It seems as though they never have any machines in stock. O well, I'll just sit back and wait. Eagerly waiting on Cob's build. Combined with everyone elses G0704 build I should have plenty of ideas rolling around in my head whenever I get mine.

I ordered mine on 11/3/10 and am waiting ever so patiently. I was hoping mine was in the batch tmbg and others were in. Maybe not though. I also waited to get my G0602 lathe - it arrived last Thursday. So, I have something to do until the mill arrives!

    cheers,

I see your version has an oil level sight glass by the hi/low selector.
I was asked about that recently.
The head doesn't seem as though it would be leak proof, can you verify.
My model doesn't have any steel gear on steel gear contact to require an oil bath.
Perhaps they've changed that and got rid of the plastic intermediates.
    nice website!

Looks like they added some ventilation slots to the top of the motor cover.
Is that cover plastic or metal? My G0704 has a plastic cover, no slots.
