    Question Trunnion table

I was looking at getting a trunnion table. I'm new to milling and trying to mill wax for jewelry. And I was looking at the HTS table and a couple of rookie questions came to mind as I looked at it and thought someone here could shed some light into the dark cavernous region on my head:

    1) why is it a 5 axis table? Table rotates as axis A, second table as C... But if A rotates 90° then second table is B axis. Is it because only 5 axis are "in play" at one time (xyzab or xyzac)?

    2) and the HTS has it's second rotary table positioned above the A axis. I would have thought the physical table would need to be below the A axis. I thought the whole setup procedure was to get a perfect xyzabc point. Or is that a virtual point and your work piece can reside in any location within the working rectangle and your cam software calculates the off center differences.

It's a 5 axis with the rotary table.
The origin can be wherever you want as long as the software is told where it is.
Which brings up the most important part, do you have 5 axis capable CAM software?
    They aren't cheap or simple.

    DeskProto is really nice software,

and the 123 Waxring system is a good way to make small objects like rings that require cutting on the sides as well as on the periphery, but it's not a 5th axis or a trunion. It's a fixture for the rotary table which, using the software, allows a pre-drilled blank to be remounted on the 4th axis so that you can cut it in indexing and rotary modes without losing registration.
