    X2 motor control electronics

Help! I finally got my X2 back together and now I just need to hook up the motor and start making chips. However, I can't figure out how the wires were connected and have since lost the pics I took to help me. This is what I have:

    Power Supply Wires:
    Green
    Brown
    Blue

    Motor Wires:
    White
    Black
    Green

Any help with this is much appreciated! One last thing, I have a loose green wire in the power supply that I assume is a ground. Can anyone tell me where that secures at? Thanks!

The three wires are +, -, and ground. The motor + and - will show nearly a dead short when tested with an ohmeter. The green wires should be the grounds, which will be connected to the motor case, and the frame of the machine, and the ground prong on the power cord. If you connect the motor +/- to the controller +/- backwards, the only problem will be the motor will simply run in reverse. If that happens, just swap them.

Is there any chance you could take a picture of your control box? I don't have a multimeter to test the wires with.....

Mine is not accessible. Just use a good flashlight battery. Connect one side to the green wire on the motor, touch the other side to the motor case. If you see a small spark, they're connected. Do the same for the wire on the controller, but touch to the frame of the machine, instead of the motor case. If you get a spark in both cases, then just connect the other wires together in either order, turn it on, and see if it spins the right direction. If you have a car battery or charger handy, just connect it to what you think are the motor wires, and the motor should spin up.

    Nate,

    Brown to Black
    Blue to White

Dug this pic out of the archives, you can see the motor wires on the right.

Thanks for the help man! I tried that and got not spark at all. I took a gamble and just connected the greens and then connected the others up. Came to life and worked just fine going the right direction, too. One last thing, the green wire in the power supply is a ground, right? I should just be able to tie that into the column, and be good? Thanks for the advice so far. I really appreciate it.

Thanks Hoss! I take it the green wire in the power supply is a ground and can be tied to the column? Thanks in advance.....

IIRC the ground was attached to one of the screws bolting the box to the column.
