    Tool Change Problem

    Hi,

I have a problem with a chinese made milling center Gold Sun GS1060.
The machine was made in China but has a Mitsubishi Meldas 60S Series controller and there is no information available.
I've found handbooks of the Mitsubishi controller, but nothing about the GS1060 machine.

    The problem is:
When I send the command M06, in MDI mode, to change tool, the magazine, becames jammed and the machine stops.
It seems the Z position of spindle is not aligned with the tool magazine.
Is there any procedure to calibrate the Z position of the spindle relative to tool magazine?

    Thanks,

    Roger

Not familiar with the Meldas 60, but you would think there would be a 2nd Home or Number 2 Zero position for Z axis. Should be a Machine Constant Parameter that probably is listed in the Machine nomenclature and maybe a common parameter for the Meldas 60. Or could it be that the magazine is of the carosel(sic) type and has to be moved to the Z axis position mechanically? As a matter of fact, I'm not familiar with the machine model either! Maybe I don't know anything!
    Later,

    Need Help! Tool Change Problem

    Hi,

Normally on M60 control below parameters are used.

    1) #2038 ( #2_rfp) of Z-axis, for the 2nd reference position of Z-axis. The unit is in mm i.e. xxx.yyy mm

    2) #3207 (SP007, OPST) of Spindle 1, for the Spindle Orient position shift.

The count 4096 corresponds to 360 deg i.e. 11~12 counts for 1 deg. However it is so for the standard 1024 PPR encoder, will be different if any other encoder is interfaced.

The above ones are basic parameters which you can try. However some MTBs, put additional interlocks with Position Switches / R parameters, to set the hi/lo limits for above parameter values. In these cases, we need to go through PLC to check the same.

    Best Regards,

    Girish
