So I guess you won't be selling your SX3 motor and controller anytime soon?
Sorry, I will be using it.
Richard

ps sorry for the hijack couldnt help myself
Cornbinder,
That is what I should have done. I did it on my lathe and love it. Do you happen to have any pictures of your motor setup? I didn't think there was enough room for a standard 1hp 3p motor on that head.
Richard
I tried looking for the pics on my PC but cant find them, but they are all on my build thread http://www.cnczone.com/forums/bencht...eady_go-4.html.
Post #29 shows the motor mount assembly and I am really enjoying this set-up
there is nothing wrong with the stock motor at all,it had plenty of power.I just wanted mach spindle control and had this laying around so all I had to do was pick up a vfd, which I got a teco sensorless vector model (as seen in other pics in my build log) and it works great.
and the z motor has no problem picking this thing up at 100ipm, I dont push it that hard normally, as that is plenty fast enough for me, I used a pokeys for the operator interface and it works great as well, manual control for simple operations are a breeze now
