Multus B300w Sequence restart error on sub spindle

    Hello,

I am a newbie on this forum !

We have a brand new Multus B300w machine on our floor. We are able to preform the sequence restart on the main spindle without any problems. But when we try to preform the restart on the subspindle the machine errors out with error "1741-20 chuck unclamp spindle 1".

We have tried everything from closing the main spindle chuck with the foot pedal to programing in an additional command to close the chuck.

I know it must be a simple g or m code that is missing from the program.

    Thanks in advance,

    Robert

Does the "clamped" light turn on for spindle 1? IF not, a proximity switch may need a slight adjustment.

it is safety interference with restart capability. Obvious, when restarting program for subspindle, the main spindle is empty. Correction of limit switch is risky - empty chuck will be misunderstood as clamped.
I guess, report to Okuma and wait for solution. There are some ways to cancel chuck interlock, sure.

"empty chuck will be misunderstood as clamped"

Not possible on a CE spec machine

easy, if You move proximity sensor. New machines, having hydraulic pressure monitored, maybe yes, cannot be cheated that way. Lathes with OSP U control (and older) have only proximity switch signal to see if chuck is clamped or not.
Is the "CE" label used for machinetools in USA?

To get running again we removed the part from the subspindle, adjusted the limit switches, and loaded a new part into the main spindle.

    Thanks all for your help..
