allo

so i was writing this program, using wizards on mach3. just a simple circle with 4 radial slots.

i have an indoor puter and a workshop one. i wrote the code on the indoor one...comfortable

tool path came up being what i wanted, so off i go...copy file to dongle, run to workshop.

open file, and the toolpath had changed!

now the centre of the slots was at the edge of the circle, and the circle was twice the size!!!!!!!!

so i fiddled, cut and pasted great chunks of code til the toolpath came up as desired...circle with radial slots.

start cycle, machine away!

all good...until it started the circle...

im assuming it was something to do with the G90.1 and G91.1 moves...:withstupi

while the toolpath displayed a circle with radial slots, what it machined was a cirle offset by its own radius, approx...i wasnt measuring.

i then "go to zero" and while the display said it was in the centre of the slots and circle, the cutter was in the centre of the circle...not the slots.

weird...

ive gotten past it, but it would be nice to know what happened for sure...
