    Temperature affect on Sherline

Not sure if this is splitting hair but I am curious what the temperature affect is on a Sherline, or if there is a limitation. My workshop will be in my garage and I am expecting temperature range of 0F during wintertime to 100F during summertime. Has anybody noticed any issue? Do you think I need to put a heater in the garage for sake machining? Is teflon fortified good enough? Thanks in advance.

Temperature will affect a machine's accuracy, but our benchtop machines aren't accurate enough for it to matter.

The concern in this case is condensation. If your garage is cold and you work in it for a while, you will be putting humidity into the air, which could condense on cold metal and cause rust.

The solution is to keep the machine well oiled.

Gun care products work very well at fighting corrosion.
