2.5 D profile: How to select chain? Which operation?

    Hi,

This is a follow up to the thread "How to insert tabs to part ?"

I guess the most promising approach is to manually add tabs to the part. Now I wonder which is the most straight forward way to select the chain for the profile cut. Hand picking is quite a job for complex shapes, but I cannot figure any other at least semi-automatic way to do it.

Furthermore: What is the best operation to profile cut this selected chain? A simple profile does only work on one z-level; doesn't it? 3d contouring does follow the path, but the tool side is not to be adjusted.

I attach a file with the chain to further clarify the matter. As said it's still that ongoing objective to add tabs, the simple and effective way, to my parts.

Any help is very much appreciated, Thanks a lot,

    Best, Hannes
