Wink How many hours do you have on your fadals

    Hi Guys..

Just curious.. I recently purchased a used 4020 and had my tech do a once over on the machine to make sure eveything is in check.. Got an A+ from the tech and asked how many hours were on the machine.. Well its a 1999 4020 A and its shows 2200 hours of cutting time..

In my opinion, its pretty low hours..

What is your year and how many hours do you have on it ??

    Would appreciate your comments..

    Thanks Chips !!

Remember that the clocks can be MANUALLY ZEROED any any time so the total hours may or may not be accurate!

Interesting, The older model 88 does not seem to have time display option, The newer
one 88hs shows time, Neat feature if you are timing part runs, One odd thing, the 88hs
shows 5034 "on" time, 24306 "run" time, so it appears something may have gotten reset at
    some point

    Thanks

Appreciate your comments.. Im pretty confident on the hours cause the owner was original and used the machine as support but never production.. Also he did know how to check the hours.. So im thinking I got a great machine with real low hours.. Doesnt mean its good for a machine not to run, but still it good to =know it wasnt abused..

Thanks for all you comments !!

I only have one machine that hasn't needed a CPU replaced and shows the "real" hours.

    1996 4020 - 8922 hours of cutting time

    For reference:

1997 5020A - 1022 hours (CPU replacement in Feb 2010 so the clocks were reset)

If the hours are correct, I'd say it's pretty low.

My Fadal TRM has only six hours on it!

Oh yea, I had to go through that SETP parameter routine last week.

I assume that action zero'd everything out.

The VMC 15, I didn't have time to look at.

I've got a 2005 4020 re-man with close to 30,000 hours power on and 18,000 cutting. 50,000 4th axis parts a year on it. Runs better than a maytag.

Hello, im a beginner on my fadal machine. I start on this company/school in January the 3st.

When i see in the clock menu, i see 262 hours power on, and 18 hours running!? its a 2002 year fadal machine So it is not used.
What happen when i reset these numbers? or can i just reset the tool running time?

...correctly, they both can be zeroed at any time.

Always keep in mind that the important issue is NOT the number of hours on a machine BUT how was the equipment used or abused!!!!!

Our 6030 (1997) has pwr on 5056:58 and run 897:20 (seems a bit odd)

Our 4020 (1991) has pwr on 30088:39 and run 22285:46

Our 3016 (1995) has pwr on 7849:7 and run 2690:52

Re: How many hours do you have on your fadals

    HI,

I am trying to check the number of hours ran on a Fadal 4020 and Fadal 40. They have a Fadal CNC Control 88. Every time I put in the "UT" command, the Offset Utility page pops up and it does not have the "Clock" command assign to a number. Any help on how i can get how many hours the machine has ran?
This is what is displayed when I use the UT command:
    OFFSET UTILITY OPTIONS:
    1 TOOL SETTING CYCLE
    2 FIXTURE OFFSET SETTING
    3 TEST TS-20 PROBE
    4 TEST MP PROBE
    5 EXIT
    ENTER OPTION NUMBER _

    thanks

Your version of software does not have the Clocks, need a newer version

Clocks are only a reference anyways they can be reset to Zero at anytime. They are not an accurate use of the machine.
