    Configuring steps/unit.....what unit?

I just started mach3 and am trying to determin steps/unit. My machine is set up in metric. When I click to 'pick and axis to calibrate' I get asked for how many units do I want to travel. Are these units meters?

mm? Wow, when I put in the number 1, my machine moved a lot more than one mm. Are you sure it's not meter?
