    Alarm 10 - No Signal Y-axis

    Hi,
I am having a really big problem with my Mazak H-15 powercenter module B with M2 controller coming up with an alarm saying "Alarm 10 - Detect No Signal Y-axis", which doesnt allow me to move anything from the controller. So please if you could give me any help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    I have:
    checked toolchanger's home position,
    replaced resolver for Y axis,
    replaced Y axis servo motor,

This alarm first came up on startup randomly a few months ago (which we restarted the machine and the alarm would go away), and now is staying on constantly.

    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

The problem could be the encoder cable itself. One of the wires may have parted or broke. Check continuity from the honda end at FX06 through the cannon connector at the encoder.
If the cable checks out it could be the Y axis circuitry on the FX06 Card itself since you have already shotgunned the encoder.
I have shaken the powertrac that contains the encoder cable and the wire actually comes back together enough for you to clear the alarm and move the axis to another position. Usually it will trip out around the same spot if you press your luck and try to run without repairing it.
