    APC

I just read through the maintenance manual and the troubleshooting section and I see a reference on the schematics for batteries but nothing in the manual with battery part numbers. I'm also kinda surprised the troubleshooting guide doesn't have the 310 codes in it.

Changed all the D cell batteries in the panel door (once I found them)
looking at resetting the parameters for the 310 and 320 codes. Seeing how this is called a Zero return, don't I have to put the machine at absolute Z= 0 and X = 0 before I reset the parameters?
    Thanks

    Hey All,
I've sent PM to 600 Service and Nick1945 but I don't know if they have gone through or not? Can either of you help with my APC310 parameter procedure?
    Thanks,
    H

Working on the zero return set up on Tornado 200
Do I need to switch my readout to mm from inch to work with apples to apples? I did switch to mm and when I did the z position turned negative.
My parameters 708 and 709 do not match the information in the instruction. My 708 is 148031 vs the instruction of 376000 and the manual says x travel is 188
My 709 parameter is 219685, instruction says 558000 and manual z travel is 558 in one manual and 563 in another. The manual with the mach serial number says 563.
So are my parameters way out of whack from the previous user or am I doing something wrong?
    H

Went through the procedure and cleared the alarm. I used my 709 parameter of 219 and calculated using stroke (219) - chuck (108.5) - 100 block = 10.5
Moved Z 10.5 and reset and alarm cleared, however, it looks like I hit a soft limit in +Z
From the info (and my assumptions) it looks like parameter 709 Z stroke has been set at 219 when the info from manual says its really 558. When I used the 219 stroke it just cut my max travel distance down. If I plug in 558 (or 562) I would have moved the Z +365 and reset which would have made more logical sense. I looked at my work offset and it has been set to -90 Value and 159 Measurement. Man, I've been away from this for too long.....
I would guess the previous owner had the machine set up for his work. I know that the program zero was about 6" from the face of the spindle
I'm going to try this again with the 558 math value.

Went though procedure and did math with 563 value and came up with 354.5
Set up Z with this value and now have full stroke in manual. Position read out Zero is now about 10" from back of chuck so I'll really have to look at programs to see what they will do. Now I'm wondering if I should change par 708 and 709 to reflect the data in the manuals?

Just went through and reset X axis. Got rid of Z work offset and will see what happens with a small test program. Don't know if I want to turn anything off.......

Nick straightened me out on 708 / 709 parameters - they are in inches. Will go through proc again staying in the Inch mode.
Thanks for all the help on this!

    Hi 600Service;
    I Have a 1998 Clausing Storm 210, Serial# T20013/017
It is in excellent condition, with very few hours on it.
I purchased it US Government Surplus.
Apparently, the operators had been playing around in the parameters and fouled them up horribly.
Mike Sundling provided me the factory parameters and I corrected probably 200 lines.
Ok, that having been done, I still have problems.
This is my first CNC machine so I am very inexperienced, and it cannot be assumed that I understand those things you may normally expect.
In attempting to go through an absolute encoder setting procedure, I have no settings I can enter. And I don't have any idea what my over-travel values should be.
    I have been fooling around in 1815, 1251, G 53, G 92 and am now so confused I can't see straight.
Can you give me a turret position to go to and provide the settings for the machine as you do in the initial set-up?
The instructions say to take note of what is in the machine and put it back in later. Well, that information is gone.
I think once I get these cleared up the machine will run.
    Thank you very much!
    Mark
