How can I mill into some extra stock?

I am doing a contour cut in a block of stock. There is an outer edge of stock left around the part. How can I set up a tool path to cut away the excess stock?

I figured out one way. I just copied the perimeter of the part and then scaled it larger. Then Created a new contour cut on that path.

Not sure if there is a bette way?

Create a pocket toolpath by chaining the stock perimeter and the finished part's perimeter.

Under Cut Paramaters, change the pocket type to "Facing."

Use dynamic milling "core milling". Make a rectangle representing your stock and go to high speed milling. Select rectangle then your profile.
