Hard drive needed replaced so got a new one then tried to load up lantek back onto my computer but it wont allow me access seems to of installed it fine apart from when i click to enter the program.... it comes up that i have to verify my protection key??

    can anyone help with this

not getting any help from support team at lantek as they say we dont have a support contract but am sure it will only be a minor thing to modify ie 5mins work so dont really want to go shell out £550 for that amount of work

would be very grateful if someone could help

    Smile Hello

Hello, i supose thatr your problem is just files missing or the Wiubu config file missing. Do you correctly put the reg file from they key on the correct path ? Are the drivers correctly installed ?

    Say something

OK and the name of the PC ??

Do you have tha same name of the PC ? thats important for the database. Another thing is the KEY file. Do you have the original ? I also had the same problem and the solution was to load the firmware for the KEY. However it could be other things. I think the solution is simple but i need some more info about your version of Lantek as also the info from your KEY. Maybe i could help you on that

the name of the pc is a fujitsu siemens and yes this is the same pc which i have been using previously...someone replaced the damaged hard drive for me but was able to copy my files from the damaged one and put it on a an external hard drive and basically but it on my desktop so i would have access to it.
lantek themselves sent me a key license although this file was already part of my old pc folder(old hard drive)
what info would u need from the key?
the version of lantek which i have been using is "DVD V.28.03 -SPC"

    does this help??

    OK but...

Ok, when i was talking about pc changes want to say that you must have the same PC NAME especialy when you have a backup of an older database. If im not wrong you have one RTU file for your KEY. Correct ? i will try to find my solution that Lantek send to me when i had the same problem and then i will post it or send it to you. by the way, Scott must say that we have diferent versions of Lantek but usually i have one guy that works with Lantek and maybe he also could help ( maybe ) But i bet that the problem is on the key ( maybe the RTU file corrupted or broken ). If the prtoblem is not there then is on the database ( NAME of PC ) those problems usually have th same solution KEY KEY KEY. I just need to check the RTU file ( yours and mine ) but, first i will ask to my friend if it should be the same for both versions ( yours and mine ) If it is i have the solution here at home

Ahh another thing ... your key is USB or LPT type ? Anyway its from WIBBU correct ?

I will try to help you if i can ok

Verify Your Protection Key Error (Lantek)

    Worked for me:

    1) ensure your dongle is in the computer experiencing the problem

    2) Go to "Control Panel" -> Administrative Tools -> Services

    3) Find "WIBU-KEY Server" line, right-click, choose "Start" from the menu

If you have a floating license and the Key is on the common server, follow steps below:

    1) Click "Remote Desktop Connection" icon on Desktop and log into server

    2) Go to "Control Panel" -> Administrative Tools -> Services

    3) Find "WIBU-KEY Server" line, right-click, choose "Start" from the menu

    Hope it helps!
