    Toolpath Operations NC file name control

    Could someone please explain the toolpath oper files to me
    or suggest what I could do different? MX3

    Existing job, filed, posted, etc.
    Problem occurs when revising and adding an operation between two existing tool operations. in the picture between op#34 and #36

    I saved the original file and "save as (renamed)" the file,
    added operation 2D contour ---> #35
    It's file name is the updated "saved-as" name.

    upon posting, The NC files appear separate, the added operation does not show up but becomes an extra NC file.

    The ICON to the left of the word "toolpath" in op #35 is a different type and I am lost as to the significance of that fact.
    regenerates, backplots, verifies good. drops oper in post.
    :drowning:
    I have circled the file names

    Been doing this too long

    Select all ops in op mgr
    right click, edit selected operations, change NC file name.

    When you "saved as" your file, the NCI file also updated to the new "save as" file so any new toolpaths generated at that point becomes a new/different output.

    You can avoid this if you changed your config file for Toolpath Manger. Right now, your Toolpath Group and NC is set to MCX File Name. Change these to something else.... (it's tool late for this particular file though unless you go ahead and update the toolpaths mentioned above). I generally set the Toolpath Group to use "User Defined Name" with the User Prompt and then set the NC to use the Toolpath Group Name.
    It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....
