Greets all;

I was researching "hobby" laser cutters; I scoured this website and a few others and found cnczone to be the most useful/informative.

I purchased the 40W model from Full Spectrum Laser in March and received it in April. The package came in fine condition and I had no problems unpacking, setting it up.

I opted out of their USB Retina Engrave board/software, as I planned to run the machine from linux. I have no problems running it as a vector cutter under EMC (using the EMC live distro). Had I wanted to do raster engraving I would have bought their Retina Engrave bundle; since I only wanted to cut things I was able to forego the purchase.

I just wanted to share my (linux) success story here for others like me who may visit this site looking for information. More details on the configuration of the laser under EMC and linux.
