    SL20 and Live Tooling

    We are looking to purchase a used SL20. We would like to have live tooling as an option we can add. Do you need a specific turret or can live tooling be added to any hass lathe

    To be honest it would probably be cheaper to buy a Lathe with Live Tooling rather than buying a Lathe without (adding Live Tooling Later). There are Internal Components in the Turret for the Live Tooling.

    Have you spoken to your local HFO?

    Adding live tooling is not easy and not cheap. A VDI or a VB (Hyper) turret is required. The Haas turret and the BOT turret will not support live tooling.
