I think the decimal is an accidental DOT!
    More like 7A at least.

    Hey AL,
I hate to keep asking you questions but it seems like your the only other member with an Excello 604 cnc mill. I think Im going to start another thread just on my conversion when I get a few more things done. I have started to gut the old control and Im wondering if you used your old power supply.
I was wondering if I keep everything in the main power panel or not, heres a picture of the inside of the main panel.

    Question

Does it make a difference what the encoders count per rev is I am looking at buying either us digital e2-1000-315 or e5-1024-236-i-ddd-3 would either of these encoders work well with my servo motors 85volt 7amp and 1700rpm,with a 2 to 1 reduction.

    Thanks Mike

Is your excello a 604 the z axis setup looks different, your motor is mounted vertically and mine is horizontal. I find it weird that the motor on mine is like that.

    Thanks Mike

Either of those encoder resolutions will work as long as the controller will accept the frequency at the RPM you intend running.

I will be using Mach3, how do I figure out if the controller will accept the frequency at the rpm I will be running?

Larken recommend 1000 pulse encoders, so either 1000 or 1024 should work.

    Question

Would the AMT102 encoder from KelingInc.net. work with mach3 and my motors, they have a dip switch that can be set to 1000 ppr,do you think these will work?

    Thanks Mike

I would't use those encoders, they don't get any cheaper. Get the US digital E5 or E6 differential if you want reliability, they cost about $20 bucks more per axis.

I bought a few of the AMT102 from Digikey to try, but wouldn't put them on a production machine.
