    Height Map - Multiple cuts

    Hi.

First question here on the forum, and very new to CNC. So please exchuse me if this has been asked before.

Doing some tests with CamBam and Height Map. Works well to import image and create a cutline that does what it should, Problem I have is if I want to do te cut in multiple steps.

E.g. If I want the depest cut to be 20mm, and I want the increment to be 2mm. It only does one cut at 20mm, and then ofcourse brakes my mill.

Should I generate multiple toolpaths without (cleaning the previouse)?
Or is there a smarter way to do this?

    Thank you in advance.

Set your cutordering to "levelfirst" and that should solve your problem.

    CamBam also has another feature:

From the top menu... Draw -> Surface -> From Bitmap.

This is similar to the heightmap plugin in that it will convert the shading information to height, but this will create a 3D mesh that can then be used by CamBam's 3D machining operations.

Using a 3D operation it is possible to machine multiple depth levels by first doing a waterline roughing pass, then follow with scanline finishing passes.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanx

    Hi!
    Thanx fr both the answers.
I managed to do it by doing multiple heightmaps, without cleaning between.
Will try the 3D mesh also.

Thanx a lot for the help.

    Kind Regards
