Arrow What CNC Router for High School Shop

I am a high school wood shop teacher and I'm putting together a paper for administration in my school to try and get a CNC router. Information seems to be difficult to find online, so I would like to call upon the wisdom of this forums community. I am looking at any advise you might be able to give; such as, where to start looking, any personal experience, pricing etc. I am looking at all sizes, from desk top to 4x8 and maybe bigger if the price is reasonable, this all depends on how much money I can get.

Buy something built in the US!! You will access to parts and service. Yes, it will cost a little more, but the quality of the build and the quality of the materials will be far superior of most anything from China!!!
I have sold machinery for many, many years and I have seen a lot of people get burned buying Chineese goods. When purchasing Chineese goods, its a gamble b/c you have no recource with the company! Remember the cheapest isnt always the best!

You should really check out Shopbot.

they are a mature company with a long record of making machines exactly like you will want. they do a great deal with schools and are very used to the academic environment.
