    Holders Not Showing in Tool Library

    Any ideas why my tool holders have suddenly stopped showing in the tool library? All the tools are showing correctly, and the holder definitions are there in the library file as they have always been.

    Anyone else seeing this?

    I am running Build. 1.3 Rev. 42918

    Hello,

    Yes I've been seeing the same thing for awhile. I've only just had a chance to dig a little deeper. It seems that now Sprutcam is utilising the "OVERHANG=DOUBLE;" column from the tools library file. According to Sprutcam help menu "Tool overhang is distance from tool base point to tooling point."

    I'd say if you look in your tools library file in a text editor you'll see that you have "0" for most if not all the tools in the file under this column.

    After what ever update Sprut did it seems that a value is needed. The value should equal the "Tool Length" (the value in the "L=DOUBLE;" column) plus the "height of the holder" (derived from "HOLDER=STRING;" column).
    i.e.
    L = 30
    HOLDER = 15:0:25:11:25:14.25:38:0:38:9.75;
    taking every 2nd value above:
    OVERHANG = 30 + 0 + 11 + 14.25 + 0 + 9.75 = 65

    You can also update it via Sprutcam itself. See attached picture.

    BTW: It also seems that Sprut have also made some changes to some of the XML configuration files to change some defaults. e.g. trochoid steps (aka High Speed Cuts) now mostly defaults to off, "by default".

    Regards, Christian
