so my problem basically is when i pack the second nut, it gets very difficult to turn. is there something im missing or is there a specific way to do this
Is to machine a block of steel that allowed both nuts to screw into it from opposite ends. I put a wave-washer in between to tension one against the other. That way I could regulate the preload, and reach a compromise between backlash and difficulty in turning.
By jamming one nut up against the other the way you've done, you're at one extreme of tightness. You need to back them off a bit to make it easier to turn - that's the main reason to use ballscrews in the first place. But my nuts didn't nest into one another like yours do, which is why I had to make that block. You might try installing a wave washer (spring) in between your two nuts, and tightening it a little less, then using Loctite to keep them in that position.
