    CNC conversion possible?

    Hi all

I'm new to the forum and have been looking around here, and on the net in general, for some info on converting my Clarke CMD 300 to CNC but haven't come up with much at all.

Info on it can be found here:

Clarke CMD300 Milling Drilling Machine - Machine Mart

I've seen loads of info about converting other machines and particularly like the idea of retaining manual control, as I've seen on some conversions.

Am I barking up the wrong tree with this or is it possible to convert it via methods I've seen used on other machines?

    Thanks

    Jules

That looks like a X2 machine.

    Shanghai SIEG Industrial. Co

Look under that name and you will find lots of info.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen how similar the X2 is but didn't want to go down the route of thinking it was possible only to be told later on that because of some minor detail, the Clarke couldn't accept a conversion kit.

I contacted CNC Fusion who have confirmed their X2 kit will go on without problems.

So, I now need to figure out which motors, etc., I need.

I'll search the forum for X2 conversions to pick up details.

    Thanks for the help.

    Jules
