OSP U10M won't take tool diameter under .010"

We have an MX-55 with a U10M control. When using tool wear comp (programming to the tool center and using the the tool diameter to account for wear) the machine does nothing if the diameter is less then .010" or more than -.010". Supposedly we checked with Okuma and they said it is a known issue, but had no real solution other than programming things small and using a minimum D of .010"

Can anyone else confirm that they have this issue? Is there a software update available to fix this? What a PITA.

do you have the negative offset function? I am guessing that you must if a value of -0.010 works.

What is your smallest internal corner raduis in the running program ??

If you have a 0.010" inside corner rad, and you put a comp of 0.011", you are trying to make that line of code dissappear. Standard programming practice for using comp is that all internal rads be larger than any offset value you want to place in the control

90% of the time we are using this comp for thread milling or controlling a diameter of a pocket or boss. If I enter -.011 for the tool diameter, I get a pocket that is .011 larger. If I enter -.009 for the tool diameter, I get no change.
