    Fanuc 6M parameters

    Hi all;
We bought a 2nd hand Amada punching with Fanuc 6M controller.
HOW CAN WE GET,SAVE,EDIT THE MACHINE PARAMETERS?
We do not have any manual but we know the machine parameters
are very important and we should have a back-up copy of it.please help.
    Thank you in advance.

Ready whatever type of upload/download device you have and set the output type to EIA (ASCII) select MODE SELECT switch to EDIT select address PRM input -9999 and push PUNCH button or whatever the button you have for output.
The list of parameters for 0000 to 0004 are the options and should be recorded by taking them off the Parameter screen.
They can be re-loaded by hand or by READ in. the small toggle switch on the bottom left of the main circuit board has to be in write posn. select the addrss PRM, input number -9999 via DATA key push the READ button, set read toggle switch on Mainboard back to original position.

I don't have any 5t parameters, you could try the CNC forum at http://www.practicalmachinist.com
Someone there may have the same machine.

Hi just wondering, this punches out all of our parameters up to line N0179 that's around page 9, there seems to be a lot more lines it does not take, Parameter seems to be 24 pages long and has some number going up to N4000.
Is this correct it only take the first 179 lines. Control is a fanuc 6m

    Thanks
    Macca

    Re: Fanuc 6M parameters

If you have RS232 communication, you set that up through 340 341 and 310~320ish right

if it is bombing out early I would suspect a communication problem

It wont punch timers keep relays and pc parameters.

pS , photograph every page. more data never hurts

    Re: Fanuc 6M parameters

    I generally set 340=3 341=3 that tells 6M look at param 312 I set 312=00011010 2 stop bits & 9600 baud.
On set page( if uploading param to laptop)
    punch code 1=
    input device=1
    input device 2=1

You can not change set page if you are downloading to the control after a memory clear. Need to load 0-8 parameters by hand then you can change the set page and ready for transfer.
    edit mode
    program protect off
    param page
    type -9999
press read or punch depending on what u are doing
All NC parameters will upload. Not PC parameters
You can not up or down load PC parameters. They stored under diagnostic screen.
You can only type by hand
