    Cool Output XYZ coord.

    Hi everyone,
I need help on a project to output XYZ coordinates from Solidworks for a tube design. Similar to an exhaust pipe where it is bent in space if you will not just in XY plane. Tube Mfg. is requesting this, to be able to bend tube in CNC Bender.
Example: Mgr needs the start point of arc and end point with Arc center for radius. The tube centerline is made up of 2 sketches but joined with using a composite curve. I tried to use ordinate method but does not output for a composite curve.Honestly not sure wher to go with this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks..
    See attached file-using Solidworks 2010..

Not sure what the best method is. If straight lines from point to point is helpful you could create a 3D sketch. While creating the sketch, save as a Macro. You could then open the Macro to get the figures. You will need to modify the numbers by shifting the decimal points. All a bit clumsy but one way to get some data.

Never tried it that way. Will work on it. Did Macros in Powermill but never in Solidworks.
Dont mind the clumsyness. Just need to get it done. Thanks

Just tried a 3D sketch over the existing geometry no macro;but At this point I am able to measure each point and arc center point. It would be nice if you can export points say in a spread sheet like Excel it would be more efficient.

Sorry, I know Excel can drive SW sketch data (never done it), but don't know about getting SW data to a spread sheet.

Not sure either. Hopefully something will come up. On excel driving sketch data - a tutorial is given on this I think called Design Tables.Pretty good
