recently i purchased for the company i work for a mastercam license and post from the local reseller so i could operate our brand new homag 5 axis woodworking milling machine.
i was surprised to find that homag blocks the access for new posts and charges, a lot, for a "universal macro" that would allow integration of a new post (my reseller writes the post and doesn't buy it). also, the price of the macro varies if different cam softwares are used.
i ask myself if i missed something before i purchased the machine/software, or maybe paying extra for new post is acceptable by all cnc machine producers?

I'm not very experienced with other machines, but this is one of many struggles we've got with Homag.
