    where to start

    Hi
I read the post about trying to get post processors, I get it.
I would like to know more about processors. Not having much luck finding info, besides this site.
What I want to do is have a post for my plasma table. the g code is real simple. no work offset, marco, z moves, just G0 G1. any hints or where to start?

    thank you

    Never used a plasma, but
I asssume it is just a goto a lead in position, turm ON, do the 2D shape, lead OUT, then turm OFF, (go home, if required)

if this is the principle, then a 2D wirecut post is possibly the way to go ( wire would be the simplest for programming ease )

try using a Generic Fanuc 2-axis Wirecut post ( example only, try the others that may give code closer to your needs- less mods needed ) & go from there
    - create a mastercam session for a shape, & multiple shapes ( circle, square, holes, etc )
    - post them
    - modify the code to make it run on your machine
    - adjust the selected post to give the same code as the proven ( running ) NC-code

    thanks i'll start there.
my plasma table starts a cut automatically when the code changes from to G1 from G0. So my biggest issue (i think) will be not posting a M3. but there is only one way to find out. heres to trying something and going from there.
