Is it possible to do this? I currently have a JGRO using Cut2d and Mach3 and I am wanting to cut a Joe 2006 with it. Some of the parts are to big to fit on the machine. (15"x30" cutting a 58.5" long part) I wanted to cut half of the part, flip end for end and cut the other half.
Another way I thought of would be to cut in some locating pins and then slide the part down to the next set of pins and repeat untill done.
Both of these would require an open vector as I want it to all be in one piece when finished. Is there any way to make Cut2d cut and open vector or would I have to manually edit the G-code.
I have attached what I have so far for a Cut2d file. The right side is where the open vectors are. The hole in the center would not have to be cut out, but would be nice.
Hopefully someone can help me out with a cut file, settings to do this, or in editing Gcode to make this part in one piece.
If not I will have to cut them in 3 pieces and then glue them together. That would be last resort because then all the joints would line up on the machine making a possible weak spot. Hopefully it would hold together long enough to make replacements for itself
I found an old thread similar to this but didn't quite understand what to do with the node editing so I need more explanation on it if anyone knows about it.
