    Deep hole drilling on OKK

Need help programming deep hole drilling on OKK vertical mill with Neomatic 635 control. That is, to make it peck less as the drill goes deeper. Thanks for any help! Eddie

Would it be possible to just use a couple different drill cycles with lower pecks as you get deeper?

Sorry I can't help directly with the question.

The only deep hold drilling I've ever done, was with a G81 (no peck). Hole was approx. 23" deep, 3" diameter. Inserted 'drill head' on a hollow body, with collant applied directly to the head(through the body), and chips/coolant flowed back through the hollow body - think tube inside a tube(one for coolant to, and one for coolant/chips from). Luckily, the machine used TCM (torque controlled machining). So it adjusted feed/speed as needed based on torque being used. It would even fault out if it senced the inserts break, or if it went over a certain torque value. This was done on a Cincinnati Horizontal mill.
