Okuma Captain L370 Error 1783 Turret unclamp time over

We are seeing the error 1783. I have read quite a few threads regarding this. Stumped. I switched out the solenoid to see if that was failing. Same result. I have the turret cover removed. It's clean inside that area. No oil dripping or leaks. The proximity switches both light for unclamp and clamped.
When the alarm pops, the proximity switch lights will both be off and the plate that triggers is about in the middle between them.

    Any ideas?

Should be good to know the story. Maybe the turret was adjusted after collision recently?
Skipping the idea about parameter failure.
Did you see two serrated rings? If you allign them ...
Clamping the turret you should observe a little circular movement in this case ( if these rings are missaligned ).
Anyway, the turret should be re-alligned.
There is a special service sequence for turret clamp fine adjusment. The cycle finds the best grip of serrated rings.

    Story:
Original owners. The machine has been running fine. A fair amount of live tool work for the last week.
    No collision.
Running a schedule of 18 parts. It will randomly throw the alarm.
The turret clamps without any misalignment.

I will work on it again today.

The proxy switches have not been touched. I have not been able to get the alarm by manually indexing the turret. One station at a time or holding the button and randomly stopping at different tool stations.

I will do an alignment today. There is a tiny misalignment motion when the turret clamps.

We are trying to perform the Auto cycle for Turret Rotation Angle Setting. I have an Okuma Bulletin Number SBL0024. We are following the procedure as written. When we reach the line that tells us to Press the "Turret Rotation" soft key, it does not appear to start the auto adjustment cycle. Have you ever done one of these auto cycles?

Re: Okuma Captain L370 Error 1783 Turret unclamp time over

hy, i also encountered turret missclamp error, ocasionally, on vdi turret, when working with c axis

reset, index, all was fine ... and error frequency was like 1/day, etc; i also encountered a lube error, also only when c axis was used

    //

as for turret rotation setting, thus to set the parameter for angle for each post, i can do this manually, for both vdi and bmt

empty turret, reduce turret speed, then use your senses

There is a tiny misalignment motion when the turret clamps.
such a thing can be caused by :
    ... heavy toolholders
... uneven, lack of balance for toolholder disposal over turret
    ... turret rotation speed
    ... turret rotation sense
... turret rotation cinematic, set by parameter

all those, i can handle in p300 version / what machine do you have ? kindly

Re: Okuma Captain L370 Error 1783 Turret unclamp time over

Update: We have been able to clear this error message. We did a careful X Axis alignment as well as turret rotation alignment. (Using a ground pin in a boring bar holder to sweep the VDI style turret) We also ran the turret rotation angle setting procedure (bulletin SBL0024)
