cut a line in X & Y and see if one is incorrect length to find out the axis which has the error. Check for backlash or wear anywhere, worn pinion etc, if everthing is tight, the axis may need re-calibrating, ( scaling).

it seems that the X axis is not right, can you walk us through how to calibrate it?
Thanks,
Kevin
You have to have access to the encoder/rev scaling parameter values.
Use a scriber taped to the torch and jog it to a mark on the machine bed or frame etc. zero out the display and command the machine to travel a set value as far a distance as practical.
Measure this distance as accurately as possible. Then use the following formula.
A/B = C
1/C*E = NEW VALUE
Where A = The distance the machine display says it traveled
B = The distance measured by tape etc.
E = The value that is in the machine encoder multiplier.
Enter the new (X) value and re-test until the calibration is OK.
