    cant open IGS

I am trying to open an igs file which i have never used before. Solidworks just freezes up. It is a scan of a cavitaion in a turbine. Roughly 5" x 6". I checked the add-in for scanto3d but i can't get anything to work. I would like to be able to open this and look at it, then run it through a CAM and machine it. The file size is 240Mb. Any suggestions?

When you click open file, select IGES from the drop down menu and and options tab appears. Click that and look at how solidworks is handling iges imports.

If it is just pointcloud data from a scanner, I don't think you are going to be happy with what SolidWorks can do for you. SW isn't very good at handling this type of data...

O.K. it just freezes and says parsing file no matter what option i try. MasterCAM opened it fine. Now to figure out how to generate code for machine this thing.
