Hello,
Can anyone help. I have a hypertherm 600, I've setup on my torchmate. Will only be cutting 1/8 for artwork. What size generator do i need to run the hypertherm 600. will be using fine cut consumables.

If you look in the electrical input section of the Powermax600 operators manual...it is recommended that the Powermax 600 is used with a generator with an output rating of 8 kva, which is roughly equivalent to a generator with an 8000 watt output rating.

The Powermax600 uses less power when cutting thin materials (even at full amperage output settings) than it does on thick materials.....as the oiutput arc voltage is lower due to a shorter arc.

I have run a Powermax600 on a 5000 watt generator at reduced power output as well.

If you are operating a compressor off the same generator...the generator muct be sized large enough to handle both machines..
