Error Code 32 (over current) at start up

We have a Mitsubishi DWC90HA wire EDM with a MR-S12-33A-E01 servo drive. The monitor and the 7 segment LED’s on the servo drive show Error Code 32 (Over current error) on the X axis. Motor problems, shorted cables or a jammed axis are some common causes. The table is free and switching the motor and encoder cables between X & Y axis doesn’t change the X axis error to Y. That eliminates the common problems.
Does anyone have any ideas on the cause?
Does anyone have any experience with, or information on MR-S12-33A-E01 servo drives?

Unwire the motor from the drive and see if it powers up to the ready condition. 32 alarm with the motor leads unwired will mean drive is blown. Power transistors may be shot in the base of the drive. It should have a red led that lights when the drive is on and DC is on the base of the drive. No DC buss power usually means blown drive. Mitsubishi Website has the manual under downloads, Tech Manual, BNP-A2833B-e for the MRS1. S2 troubleshooting is similar.

You were correct Leelund but there was more to it than shot power transistors in the base of the drive. We do not have access to the Mitsubishi Website because we are not registered ($900 minimum) so we sent the drive to Mitsubishi for repair. The results were an open trace on the top card, weak base power transistors, open relays and a dirty contactor. I don’t think we would ever have found all of that with the equipment we have here. Thank you very much for your help that pointed us in the right direction.
