I'm hoping to find some M16-II expertise who can help.
Have a Hitachi Seiki HC400 with a Fanuc 15MA married to a Micon 16-II. Machine was running fine today for a few hours with no problems and then stopped in the middle of a tool change. The Fanuc screen showed overtravels, hard and soft, in all 4 axis'. The M16-II screen was blank except for an inverse SLBUS NOT READY #nn, then flipping through all the SLBUS interface numbers (#01, #03, #04, #06, $0F). I can not get any other display to show on the M16-II screen.
The red TX led on the bottom of the M16 main board is on solid red. All other leds that I could find on the slave boards that usually indicate activity on the SLBUS are off. I have a 5V LED (LED6) lit on the M16 board, but all others I could find are off. I can see 3 red leds lit on the power supply, 1 green led lit, and one green led off. I have no documentation for this power supply, so I do not know what is supposed to be on and what is supposed to be off as far as the LEDs are concerned. I checked power in and the on board fuse on the power supply, all check good. I am getting good readings on the +5V, the 24V, the +15V, and -15V coming off the power supply, but the +7.5V and -5V readings are bad. Does the M16 use these voltages to power communications to the SLBUS??
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind hunting down or having repairs made to the boards, if I would be more sure of the problem.
