    CNC 6040 VFD spindle control

    Hello,

I hope you all can help.

I just got a CNC 6040 delivered to my office in Sydney, I have assembled most of it.

I am installing Ubuntu 10.04 - 32-bit on an SSD attached to the LV-67EA, after I have done that I will add EMC2, the LV-67EA has a built-in parallel port.

COM2 on my Commell LV-67EA SBC supports RS-485 through jumpers.

I have "Huanyang VFD Manual.doc" for the Huanyang HY01D523B, it's not helping a whole lot.

Huanyang HY01D523B appears to support RS+ and RS- for RS-485 through control circuit terminals.

Can I control the VFD and therefore the spindle speed from EMC2?

Modbus RTU and EMC seems to be talking about what I am looking for.

I am thinking of completely replacing the control box with a Gecko G540 and the pump with a Eheim 2000 pump that is powered from the mains, will this help with spindle speed control?

I am brand new to all this and would also really appreciate and would be happy to pay if somebody could spare the time to pop round to my office and make sure the setup isn't dangerous.

    Thanks for your time.

    Richard
