Okuma LS "barn find of sorts"

Hello all. Have a Okuma LS (at least thats what we believe it is, going to see it Friday)

Anyway I can take this baby home for under $2K.

So I have a couple reservations. First is from what I have read the motor is big. 7.5HP to 10HP. I cant run a motor this large in my shop (garage). I would be converting it to a single phase machine and was wondering if I could run the machine with a 5HP motor? I know I obviously wont have the torque to do big jobs but thats okay.

The next reservation is in regards to size. Its BIG!

So what are your thoughts on this lathe? Good purchase? Bad? To big/ requires more HP than I can power?

I would check accuracy before buying. Electrical issues easy to handle, but mechanical wear if any ...

To big a machine for my shop. If anyone is in the Calgary area and is serious I can get you in touch with the owner (sub $2000 and it's yours)
