    Hello,
we think about purchasing a robot arm for milling some large parts in plastic. My question is how exactly is the milling with a robot?

I have another, quite similiar question. Does anyone use SCARA type robots for milling? I plan to build a small SCARA(about 30cm in arm range) optimized for milling and drilling in metal. Did anyone try milling with homemade robotic arm?

Well i'm in the same situation of you.
I have beign building a scratch made cnc scara robot the last month.
Very well made, precise and good looking also.
I'm proud of it, mostly because i didnt spected to be so good.
I found now in a battle for undestandig EMC2 from Linux.
In fact, i'm a litlle mad about it, because i'm not able to find any usefull hint for configuration of this thing (Calling "thing" to the software, not the robot).
All i found is comments like "oh iea, its easy to drive with EMC. Look at the sample configuration files AND CUSTOMIZE IT TO YOUR NEEDS...) but how in the hell do you customize it!?
